We offer diagnostic evaluation services for individuals ages 12 months to 6 years suspected of having an autism spectrum disorder (ASD) or other developmental disability. All evaluations are conducted and/or supervised by a licensed psychologist.
When a child is diagnosed with an ASD, the entire family is affected. The May Center for Evaluation and Treatment also offers counseling and support to families of children with autism. These services help families as they cope with issues such as stress, grief, depression, and anxiety, which are commonly experienced by families following a diagnosis. We also help families to develop essential skills, such as time management and positive coping, so that they can better manage complicated lives.
Our ASD specialty services include:
standardized developmental, cognitive, and behavioral assessments such as the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule (ADOS)
educational and treatment recommendations to families and schools
outpatient therapy and treatment
family support and parent education services
The Center also provides assessments and evidence-based treatments for a number of conditions that may co-occur with ASD including:
attention deficit hyperactivity disorder
behavior and mood disorders
phobias and panic
